Drug Testing Update 2026-2027
Osborn R-O School District is no longer participating in the random drug-testing program for students.
This change does not alter the district’s commitment to maintaining a safe, healthy, and drug-free learning environment. The possession, use, distribution, or being under the influence of prohibited substances on school property, at school-sponsored activities, or during school transportation remains strictly prohibited.
Students who violate these expectations will be subject to disciplinary action in accordance with district Board Policy and the Student Handbook.
We appreciate the continued cooperation of our students, families, and staff in helping maintain a safe and drug-free campus. Questions regarding this change or the district’s policies may be directed to the school administration.

The Osborn R-O School District has revised the Parent/Student Handbook to better align with current Board Policies.
Parents and guardians are encouraged to carefully review the updated handbook and discuss its policies and expectations with their student before the start of the school year.
Please use the following link to view the Student Parent Handbook.
https://irp.cdn-website.com/dc754019/files/uploaded/2026-08-04+Osborn+Student+Parent+Handbook+%28BOE+adopted%29.pdf
Please note that a Parent/Student Handbook Acknowledgment and Signature will be required during student registration.

Beginning this school year, Osborn R-O School District will not be issuing Chromebooks to individual students in grades 3-12. Students will continue to have access to technology during the school day whenever it is needed for instruction. Devices will remain at school and will be stored, charged, and maintained in designated classroom carts.
Students who receive instruction through a program outside of our district will be issued a device when necessary. These students must turn their device into the school office upon arriving at school and pick it up from the office at the end of the school day.
The annual $15 tech fee and a signed Technology Use Agreement are still required before any student may use a district device.
This change will help the district better manage and protect its technology resources while continuing to provide students with reliable access to the devices they need for learning. If you have any questions or concerns please contact Brad Griffin at 816-675-2217.
